Staff Finders has opened up its third UK base and expanded into Scotland by opening a dedicated recruitment office in Aberdeen.
The move follows recent work in Scotland by the Staff Finders team in helping a number of employers recruit staff from north of the border.
Aberdeen and the surrounding areas has seen the levels of payroll employment fall 5.5% over the past year as the impact of pandemic has hit hard.
However, Lisa Dale, Operations Director at Staff Finders, says it is an ideal time for the business to bring its expertise to the city, which is to benefit from a £27million investment from the Government for the Aberdeen Energy Transition Zone, an initiative aimed at transforming the area into a hub for cleaner energies, such as offshore wind and hydrogen.
“We are delighted to be taking more than 25 years’ experience of working as a specialist recruitment agency to Scotland and to Aberdeen in particular,” said Ms Dale.
“It has been a challenging 12 months for the city and there are currently high-levels of unemployment, but this is not an issue it faces in isolation and this is a background we are used to working in given our long-established presence in the north of England.
“What we have already seen from our work in helping employers to recruit is that there is a hard-working workforce in Aberdeen ready and awaiting their opportunities.
“What they need is better support in finding opportunities, and then accessing that work when it becomes available.
“We have a proven track record in that area, from finding people opportunities on their doorstep to helping them secure good opportunities further afield.
“We will be working hard to bring job opportunities to people and to support them in securing work. We have already been contacted by employers within the city with opportunities, so it is an exciting start.”
