Car Mechanic.

Hull - HU2

£13-£15 per hour Full Time

We are seeking a Automotive Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles, ensuring optimal performance and safety. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for automotive technology and a strong mechanical aptitude to develop their skills within a professional environment. The position involves working with diverse tools and equipment, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify mechanical issues using schematics and technical manuals
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and other vehicle components
  • Utilise hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to carry out assembly, disassembly, and repair tasks
  • Interpret technical diagrams and schematics to accurately diagnose problems
  • Maintain detailed records of work performed and parts used for each vehicle
  • Assist with the installation of new parts or systems as required
  • Carry out heavy lifting tasks safely when handling engine components or other heavy parts
  • Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs and maintenance procedures clearly to clients
  • Ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications
  • Conduct routine maintenance checks and preventative care to prolong vehicle lifespan

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Automotive Mechanic or similar role with solid mechanical knowledge
  • Proficiency in reading schematics and technical manuals
  • Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly processes
  • Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance procedures and equipment repair techniques
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Good communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Relevant qualifications or certifications in automotive technology are desirable but not essential

Hours - Monday - Friday 8am-5pm (40 hours per week)

Pay - £13-£15 depending on experience

Start Date - Beginning of January.
