National Apprenticeship Week

National Apprenticeship Week

This week marks National Apprenticeship Week, so we thought we'd share the success story of our apprentice, Lily.

Lily, 18, joined us almost one year ago as an administrator at our Hull branch, and has very quickly adapted and flourished in her role.

She is our receptionist, welcoming clients through the door, and she covers a multitude of duties, from registering clients, scanning documents, booking clients in for inductions, and handling inquiries.

Lily, who celebrates her one year anniversary at Staff Finders next week, said: “I had been working at KFC and studying at college when I saw this apprenticeship opportunity advertised.

“I didn't have any experience to get me into an administrative role, so this opportunity came up and I thought I would enjoy it. I didn't want to work in fast food forever and I knew this would open up other options and pathways for me to work towards.

“I am hoping that in five years' time I would have moved higher up in my career, I'm ambitious and want to continue progressing.” Lily uses her own initiative in handling inquiries from clients, frequently settling any queries herself rather than disturbing her busy colleagues.

She believes the best thing about being an apprentice at Staff Finders is the job satisfaction she feels from helping someone into employment www.lenseseyes.com.

“The best thing is seeing when somebody gets a job or leaves for a full-time contract, and they come back to say thank you, it makes me feel appreciated. It's a nice feeling to know that while I'm achieving my own work goals, I am also helping others to achieve theirs.”

Staff Finders' Commercial Director Michal Cepowski said: “Lily is a great asset to us, we highly value apprenticeships as a company, as it gives us the opportunity to train someone from scratch, while giving a young person an excellent opportunity to carve out a career that has real prospects.“
