We’ve had an exceptionally busy first month of 2022 at Staff Finders as our team continues to work hard to help employers recruit the people with the skills they need. replica watches
We are exceptionally proud of the role we play in supporting the local economy, as at any one time we indirectly employ around 1,000 people in temporary positions, the vast majority working in East Yorkshire.
We also manage a continually updating database of around 2,000 workers who are available and can be called upon by employers – an essential resource when businesses enter peak periods of production and demand.
At Staff Finders we have always placed a focus on ensuring we find the right fit between businesses and people, and it is an area of our work we have committed to further developing over the past couple of years.
It is why our long term clients tell us they come back to us, and is cited as a reason by many businesses contacting us for the first time as to why they’ve turned to us for help with their recruitment.
Word of mouth and recommendation has brought in lots of new business. In fact, over the past 12 months we’ve worked with around 30 new businesses for the first time to help them with their recruitment needs.
That has included clients in manufacturing, food production, horticulture, the caravan industry, greenhouses and warehousing. It has been very rewarding.
Importantly, we don’t just recruit to fill a vacant position, we recruit to find a valued member of staff who values the opportunity provided.
We establish close partnerships with the businesses we serve, gaining a true understanding of how company works and the challenges staff will face. This helps us get to know what type of people we need to recruit.
Importantly, we also offer an advisory role to employers too, including discussions over salaries which will ensure a business continues to improve its bottom line, but be competitive enough to attract and retain reliable staff.
We create many bespoke advertising campaigns for our clients, using specific company branded marketing materials, staging dedicated recruitment days in prominent locations to take opportunities out into the community.
We also continue to check and verify all qualifications, relevant certificates, training records and experience of candidates, and ensure they settle into their roles as they are accompanied by a representative of ours on site on their first day to carry out a site awareness induction and to be introduced to mangers.
For businesses recruiting in large numbers, full-time on-site coordinators are used to ensure the smooth running of operations on a day-to-day basis, acting as a 24-hour point of contact for workers.
It is all these elements of our work, where we go the ‘extra mile’, which our clients tell us makes the difference.
Finally, we are passionate about introducing workers into businesses who go on to progress from initial temporary roles to permanent positions, transferring to become employees of the businesses themselves.
Offering career support to young a focus for 2022
We are very proud of recently developed partnerships with local employers to take 17-21 year olds directly into full-time employment, paying above minimum wage for their age and apprenticeship pay levels, opening up new routes to trade careers.
Talks are ongoing with a number of respected local employers and we expect to be in a position to officially launch this programme in the coming weeks.
2021 ended strongly for our team as the likes of Cranswick Country Foods, JZ Flowers, Wren Kitchens, Walker Modular and Plant Raisers all turning to our expertise to help them attract the right workforce for their businesses.
It brought a busy end to a busy year, one in which we were once again named one of the best businesses in our sector in Hull by an independent review programme.
We look forward to further strengthening our existing business partnerships, and to forging many new ones as well.
